Maybe I'm wasting my young years

As usual, I've had a very cake filled Sunday with another Iron Cupcake competition- Death by Chocolate was the theme this month and even though I only managed to sneak a few little slithers of cake after the judges had passed their verdict (it was a very busy one this month!) I still felt like I was going to end up in a sugar coma. I'll probably do a post about it soon as if you happened to see my instagram feed earlier then you'll know there were some awesome designs amongst the entries!

Other than that, this weekend I had a pretty lazy one after a night out on Friday with some of my favourites. I wore my new favourite dress which made for lots of fun swishy dancing- great entertainment to liven things up since what has been my favourite club night for years was sadly lacking in any sort of atmosphere. I think I need to find a new favourite indie venue to satisfy my Dad-dancing needs. As well as buying myself a new dress, I'm having a bit of a jewellery buying phase (yes, I have added another moustache to my ever expanding collection... considering founding a moustacheaholics anonymous group if anyone cares to join me). I'd been hunting for a K watch for ages after seeing almost every other letter in Topshop. After months of trying I decided getting a T was the next best option, teamed with my scrabble ring it spells out my initials quite nicely.

A sign saying closed but we're back in business

This lovely weather we've been having (if you ignore the crazy wind that seems to be accompanying the sunshine here in Leeds) has made me finally want to brighten up my wardrobe for the summer. I'm still reluctant to buy myself a pair of sandals because I'm convinced that as soon as I do the sun will disappear forever, but I'm happy to embrace bare arms and lighter colours. And so entered these jeans. I've tried Topshop's Joni jeans on about 100 different occasions now and eventually came to the conclusion that they're NEVER going to suit me. My hips just aren't designed for their super figure hugging material (although they were the comfiest things I've ever tried on...) and quite frankly they looked ridiculous on me. Luckily, I quickly fell in love with the Jamie jeans instead, still high waisted, better material plus I loved the acid wash colour. Take that Joni jeans, I don't need you anymore.

I've also been finding a lot of jewellery in the shops over the last week or so that I've been unable to tear myself away from, usually I don't find much jewellery on the high street and tend to find more on the internet but I've been pleasantly surprised lately!

I'm off to have a jolly little time with some sink unblocker. Oh yes, I lead a highly glamorous lifestyle.

You don't have my number, we don't need each other now

With the exception of showing you all my black lace dress a few weeks ago, I haven't done any outfit posts in what seems like forever. Mostly because of the inconvenience of this 'spring' weather we've been having leading me to live in wooly jumpers and not a lot else, but also because I really am an awkward little so and so when it comes to taking photos of myself and all that jazz.

Anyway, the real point of this post is mostly to show you my lovely new necklace from Kukee. I'd been hunting around for a bunting type necklace for absolutely ages but was really struggling to find one I liked anywhere (I was even starting to contemplate concocting a cunning plot to get my friend who had a similar necklace to think she should give hers to me). Luckily, a browse on the Kukee website one evening saved me from my necklace-less induced sadness and probably saved my friendship while I was at it!
And we all lived happily ever after.

In other news, I met a new patient at work yesterday who said I looked about 15. Given my current age-related crisis at becoming an old person, after getting over my initial horror at being mistaken for somebody about to sit their GCSE's, I couldn't help but partially see this as a good thing as surely it must mean that I don't have to start acting my age yet?!
